Lawrence M. Fogel
The Team
Lawrence M. Fogel, Senior Managing Principal is nationally recognized as a mid-market merger and acquisition specialist. His strengths include superior negotiating skills in closing transactions, maintaining positive communications between the parties, overall problem-solving and financial structuring of difficult transactions.

Fogel International evolved from an entity co-founded by Mr. Fogel in 1969. Prior to that time, he was an account Executive with Walston & Company and H.O. Peet & Company, both members of the NYSE.

Mr. Fogel has served as a director on the boards and advisory committees of various national corporations, including Chairman of the Board of AFS Technologies, Inc., GEM Distribution Inc., Karbach Building Company, Arizona Valley Development, and ANENT Systems Corporation.




Tolin Baker, Managing Director: Financial Sourcing & Restructuring

Tolin has over 15 years of corporate finance, securitization and real estate experience. Tolin started his career at Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking Group in New York City in 1992. After moving to Arizona in 1996, he ran the securitization group for Franchise Finance Corporation of America (FFCA), a multi billion dollar NYSE REIT. When FFCA was purchased by GE Capital, Mr. Baker was the only employee hand-selected from more than 250 to join GE’s Quality Program where he earned his 6 Sigma Quality Black Belt certification in less than 1 year. He then went on to become Vice President of the Credit Department at Spirit Finance Corporation, a multi billion dollar NYSE REIT. During his stay at Spirit, Tolin wrote up and presented over $200 million in projects to investment committee where he had above a 90% success rate. Recently, he joined Fogel International where he has been focusing his efforts on sourcing capital for small to mid size companies and financial restructuring for real estate and corporate finance deals. He has also been active in M&A transactions.

Mr. Baker has an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University.

Mary Fedewa, Managing Director

Mary has over 17 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining Fogel International, Mary served as a Managing Director of Acquisitions at IStar Financial (NYSE: SFI) and Spirit Finance Corporation (NYSE: SFC) and was involved in over $1 billion in real estate investments. Prior to joining Spirit Finance Corporation, Mary spent over 10 years with GE Capital. Her most recent position with GE Capital was a Senior Vice President in the Consumer Finance division. Mary also held many other leadership positions in several businesses within GE Capital, including Mortgage Insurance, Private Label Financing, Consumer Finance and Commercial Finance during her tenure As a result, Mary is well versed in commercial, consumer and real estate finance. Mary earned her B.A. from North Carolina State University.

P. Frank Limbaugh, Director Specialty Finance

Frank Limbaugh has over 32 years experience in the financial services industry. An innovator with a proven track record of maximizing profits in competitive complex environments for domestic and internationally based
corporations. He possesses extensive experience in providing focused leadership. His experience encompasses finance, marketing, sales and operations.

Frank was the president of the Technology Division of Deutsche Financial Services, a world leading financial institution with over $800 billion in assets. During his 22 year employment with Deutsche he designed and implemented highly successful alliances with major companies such as Inacom, Ingram Micro, MicroAge, TechData, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard and Compaq. In addition, he provided strategic leadership for the Technology Divisions $2 billion portfolio, generating $25 billion in sales activity.

For more than 11 years, Frank served as Division Vice President/General Manager of Borg Warner Acceptance Corporation (Transamerica Finance), where he worked with clients to resolve their financial opportunities.

Frank received his Masters of Arts in Management from the Peter Drucker School of Management, Claremont University. He also completed the Advanced Management program, University of Southern California, and the Executive Program at the University of California, Irvine, Graduate School of Management.

 

 

Ahim Kandler, Director Israeli Investments, has over 12 years experience in all aspects of international business development and business planning for technology and industrial companies. Mr. Kandler has been involved in a number of capital raising activities for Israeli companies seeking venture capital abroad and prepared numerous business plans which helped early stage companies raise capital.

Commencing before 1989, he has a strong background in engineering and business administration. Mr. Kandler is the founder and managing partner in a boutique consulting and advisory firm, AHIM Business Development, which acts as Fogel International's Israeli office. Prior to founding AHIM in 2001, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was in charge of business and financial planning for technology companies. Prior to that he worked for Daimler Benz Aerospace in Germany as a financial adviser on a large-scale project for the European Space Agency. Mr. Kandler has a German graduate degree in business administration from LMU University in Munich and Wissenschaftliche Hochschule in Lahr.

Mark Genz, Director Buyer Searches
Mark’s experience lies within the capital markets and business development. His success is based on his ability in establishing and maintaining long term relationships with his clients. Throughout his career he has been focused on working with entrepreneurs.

Prior to joining Fogel International, Mark worked at Capital Advice, a boutique investment bank. During his tenure there, he helped develop their buy-side division and took lead in sourcing deal flow for various private equity groups throughout the U.S. Prior to joining Capital Advice, Mark worked at Christensen IR, an investor relations firm. There he was responsible for various investor outreach projects and his main focus was to drive shareholder value. In addition, he engaged in high level sales of IR products to prospective clients. He began his career at Stevens Foster, a $600 million dollar private wealth management firm that focused on the investment needs of high net worth entrepreneurs. Recently, Mark joined Fogel and has been focusing on buyer searches for private equity groups, venture capital firms, and corporate/strategic buyers to strengthen their current portfolio through acquisition, merger, or add-on acquisitions.   

Mark is originally from Minnesota where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics and English from Gustavus Adolphus College. He also currently holds his real estate license and formerly held his series 6 & 63 securities.

Arnold Eisenberg, Southeast Director of Marketing, has over 35 years of experience in all aspects of related business situations. In his successful career, Mr. Eisenberg has been involved in various related business issues such as, Mergers, Acquisitions The selling of Individual Enterprises.

He served for 20 years as The CEO of Zar Industries, a very successful distribution and wholesaling company in the Garment industry.

He also served on The Board of Directors of 4 other Garment Industry related companies.

After a short retirement, Mr. Eisenberg entered The Advertising Industry,where he has become extremely successful.

Along with his marketing skills, he has exceptional sales skills that have proved to be very beneficial to the companies he has been involved with.

His visionary thought process is very beneficial in all areas of business.

Gus Ruiz, Senior Associate-Client Relationships has over 20 years experience of success based on establishing and maintaining long term relationships. Gus understands the importance of trust in any relationship and only aligns himself with organizations that work with the highest level of integrity. Because of these relationships, and the trust he has earned, Gus has consummated over $100M in transactions in his Merger & Acquisition career. Gus has a proven ability to connect two separate entities to accomplish their like and separate objectives while structuring a transaction that is beneficial to both parties.

Gus has served as a member of the Arizona Association for Economic Development and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. He is currently on the Executive Board of Directors for the Back To School Clothing Drive Association.

Gus hails originally from Indiana where he studied for his Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Chemistry at Indiana University-Bloomington. He has been married for over 21 years and has 3 children. Success follows Gus because he genuinely cares for the people he meets and represents. Business development, Relationship management and Customer service are the core traits that drive him professionally. Family and community are at the core of what drives him personally.

Bryan J. Toth, Senior Financial Analyst/Consultant to Fogel International Bryan has been working with a broad range of companies throughout the United States in the resolution of capital needs for over 25 years. Since obtaining a BBA from the University of Toledo in 1978, Mr. Toth gained extensive experience in directly consulting well over 2,500 small to middle-market companies in the proper cash management, equity and debt/lease structures, retirement plans, and investments. Industry sectors include, but are not limited to manufactures, wholesalers, distributors, and services industries ranging from low to high-tech. These opportunities allowed providing advice on corporate growth, acquisitions, recapitalizations, contractions/divestitures, turnarounds and bankruptcies. Mr. Toth carries experience gained with such organizations as Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Financial Services and Security Pacific in addition to management positions held with Security Pacific, Bank One and Pacific Century Bank. He has obtained Series 7 and Series 66 licensing.

Mr. Toth has serviced professional and civic organizations such as the Arizona Manufacturing Network, Enterprise Network, The Executive Advisory Group, The Foundation for Technology Financing, Chicanos Por La Causa, The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce’s Capital Access Committee, St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Knights of Columbus.

Chris continues as an occasional Consultant to the firm

Chris joined Fogel International in 1991 as an Administrative Assistant to the Senior Managing Principal.  She was responsible for the day to day administrative functions including heavy contact with clients, in person, on the telephone and via e-mail. 

At this time the firm was a paper-based office.  Chris introduced computers to the office, streamlined the firm’s internal procedures and implemented changes to the firm’s overall functions.  She created, developed and maintained large proprietary databases of intermediaries, financial firms and business associates in MS Access.  Chris trained our  internal associates and their support staff on the use and functions of the databases and as a result, transactions could be processed more effectively and accurately resulting in improved efficiency and revenue for the firm. 

Promoted in 1994 to research and administration, Chris took on the additional responsibilities of the product research department.  Her primary function as a researcher was to analyze, evaluate and research products, technologies, services and marketing channels for client acquisitions.  Her research reports and summaries were used as an informational tool to both internal and external clients.   

Chris developed excellent client rapport, always maintained the highest level of confidentiality regarding client transactions, and was instrumental in implementing business solutions that moved the transactions forward to closing.
